Gambled Parts 10/17

101st Precinct

	After lunch the group had split up.  Skelany had dropped Scully off so
that she could perform the autopsy.  Peter and Mulder had gone to drop Caine 
back in Chinatown and then they were going to snoop around to see if they could
identify the John Doe they had just pulled from the dumpster.  For the 
past half hour Mary Margaret had been sitting at her desk trying to make a 
dent in the pile of paperwork that had been piling up.  After all, she and 
Peter were investigating other cases as well.  She looked up to see Kermit
saunter into his office and close the door.  She got up.  With none of the 
others around, this was the perfect time to ask him.

	She knocked on his door, and walked in.  Kermit was sitting in front of 
his computer, dressed as usual in his dark shades and suit. Sometimes he 
reminded her of James Bond with his secret little missions and everything.  
Skelany mentally shook herself, she had to keep her mind on business here.  
She had to look out for her partner who didn't seem to look out for himself.  

	" What do you need, Skelany? " Kermit was furiously typing on his 
computer.

	" I need you to run a check on the two FBI agents, " Skelany said.

	Kermit looked up in surprise, " FBI agents?  What FBI agents? " Since 
when was Skelany suspicious of people on their side?  He must be rubbing off 
on her.

	" I forgot you weren't here this morning.  I need you to run a check 
on Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.  "

	" Mulder, Mulder, " Kermit muttered, " I've heard that name before, 
but I can't remember where. " He exited the program he was in and logged into 
the FBI database.  " A Ha!  I thought that name sounded familiar. "   He was 
looking at Mulder's personnel records and photo.  

	" You know this guy? " Skelany asked.

	" Oh yeah..." Kermit leaned forward and shoved a disk into his disk 
drive.  Then he started downloading the information on Scully.

	" Well? " Skelany asked.

	" Where is he now? " Kermit ignored her questions.  After hearing that
he was in Chinatown with Peter, he stood up and pulled his gun from his desk 
drawer.  He ejected the disk and handed it to Skelany. Then he walked out the 
door leaving an open mouthed Skelany in his wake.  Kermit knew this Mulder
guy?   First Caine, now Kermit of all people?  This Mulder guy must really 
get around Skelany thought as she walked out of Kermit's office and booted up 
her computer.
